Asthma
Asthma is a condition that many people have. Having asthma can
affect one’s ability to breathe and it targets the lungs; similar to Bronchitis, in the way that it makes breathing difficult for the person with asthma. With asthma, coughing and wheezing is very evident. The main difference between asthma and Bronchitis, however, is that you can be born with asthma and usually asthma is not as life threatening. With asthma, one will rarely have mucus build
up. Asthma, like Bronchitis, can be short term or long term, and in order to control asthma, doctors will often subscribe an inhaler/puffer.

Bronchitis
Bronchitis is another disease that can affect the Respiratory
System. When one is diagnosed with Bronchitis, it is because there is
inflammation in the Bronchi tubes. People with Bronchitis have difficulty
breathing, because the air cannot pass through the airway easily. With
Bronchitis, mucus begins to build up as well, which just doubles the amount of
difficulty for a patient with Bronchitis to breathe.
There are two stages of Bronchitis; Acute Bronchitis and Chronic
Bronchitis. Those who have
acute-bronchitis do not have to worry as much as those with Chronic
Bronchitis. Acute Bronchitis is the short-term version of Bronchitis and is
just a graver version of the flu. With Chronic Bronchitis it can last for up to
3 months. Bronchitis is caused when a bacteria of some sort enters the body,
and causes inflammation and irritation in the bronchial tubes. The biggest
offenders of Bronchitis is smoking (second hand, too) and air pollution.
